Speech Therapist in Lees Summit, MO
Provide expert speech-language pathology services in a dynamic inpatient setting across two leading hospitals located in Lees Summit and Belton, MO. This contract opportunity offers the chance to utilize advanced clinical skills, including video swallow studies, while supporting a diverse patient population requiring comprehensive speech therapy.
Location:
You will split your time between two modern medical centers—one in Belton with 71 beds and another in Lees Summit with 88 beds—both equipped with up-to-date Meditech documentation systems. The commute between the two sites is manageable and allows for varied clinical exposure in inpatient settings.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality speech-language pathology evaluations and treatments to inpatient individuals.
- Perform specialized procedures such as video swallow studies to support clinical diagnoses and treatment planning.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Meditech software.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient recovery outcomes.
- Adhere to hospital-specific guidelines, policies, and dress code (scrubs required).
- Flexibly manage caseloads between the two hospital sites, providing consistent care as required by scheduling needs.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) required.
- Proven inpatient speech therapy experience is essential.
- Advanced clinical proficiency in performing instrumental swallow assessments (video swallows).
- Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
Schedule:
- Weekdays, typically from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, tailored to caseload demands.
- No on-call responsibilities.
