Key Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology with active SLP licensure in the applicable state
  • Prior clinical experience in acute care, rehab, or hospital settings preferred
  • Comprehensive understanding of clinical documentation requirements and interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Commitment to ethical practice, patient safety, professionalism, and ongoing development
  • Adherence to State Practice Act and completion of mandated continuing education

Schedule:

  • Travel position; full-time hours anticipated

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive speech-language evaluations for assigned patients; develop individualized, evidence-based plans to guide them toward effective discharge within an established length of stay
  • Collaborate proactively with the rehab team to address barriers to patient discharge, including patient/family education and equipment arrangements
  • Demonstrate flexibility in managing caseloads, treatment sessions, and coverage, maintaining high standards of care and communication
  • Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with hospital, state, and federal guidelines
  • Support professional and patient advocacy efforts, including health fairs, community events, and professional organizations
  • Actively participate in student mentorship, professional development planning, and organizational performance improvement initiatives
