This full-time, contract opportunity is designed for a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) eager to make a meaningful difference in a supportive elementary school setting. Situated in a single building, you’ll collaborate closely with educators and speech-language pathologists to deliver quality speech and language services to students. Your impact will be felt every day as you work to promote communication skills crucial for academic and social success.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current and active SLPA license in Connecticut
  • Previous school-based experience required
  • Availability for a full-time schedule (35 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 8:45AM-3:45PM)
  • Ability to provide or obtain district-specific fingerprinting and a completed background check
  • Up-to-date and detailed credentials; possessing upfront licenses is highly advantageous
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Must be able to start as soon as possible
  • Credentialed candidates will receive interview priority

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and indirect speech-language therapy services under SLP supervision
  • Assist with screening, assessment, and data documentation for students
  • Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and track progress towards goals
  • Support classroom teachers and staff with communication strategies
  • Work in partnership with families to promote carryover of skills
  • Maintain accurate and timely records in compliance with district procedures
  • Assist in creating an engaging, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
