Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) in Waterbury, CT
Make a positive impact in the lives of students as a School-Based Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in a supportive elementary setting. This full-time contract position offers the chance to work closely with students and educators in a single building, collaborating to facilitate communication growth throughout the school year.
Your schedule will be from 8:45 AM to 3:45 PM, totaling 35 hours per week, and you'll be part of a dedicated team focused on providing high-quality services to elementary-aged children. Begin making a difference as soon as possible and continue through June 11, 2027.
Requirements:
- Active Speech-Language Pathology Assistant license in Connecticut
- Prior school-based SLPA experience
- Willingness to undergo district fingerprinting and background checks
- Ability to interview via Zoom
- Upfront licensure documentation is highly beneficial
- Strong collaborative and communication skills to work effectively with teachers, students, and support staff
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Support delivery of speech and language interventions under SLP supervision
- Track and document student progress
- Assist with IEP goal implementation
- Communicate regularly with other professionals and families about student needs and achievements
- Contribute to the creation of engaging and age-appropriate therapy activities
