Make a meaningful impact in students’ lives by providing essential speech-language support as a skilled Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA). This contract position offers the opportunity to work within a supportive school environment, helping young learners across grades K-8 around the Tacoma area. You’ll collaborate with a virtual SLP, ensuring students receive the guidance and services needed to thrive academically and socially.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active SLPA license or certification required
  • Prior experience in school settings or with pediatric populations preferred
  • Knowledge of common speech and language disorders and interventions for school-aged children
  • Ability to follow therapy plans and directions established by a supervising SLP
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Tech-savvy, comfortable working alongside virtual supervision
  • Compassionate, patient, and eager to contribute to student growth

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct speech-language services to approximately 12 students weekly
  • Implement therapy exercises and activities under the direction of the supervising virtual SLP
  • Record and document student progress, maintaining clear and accurate notes
  • Collaborate effectively with school staff and the virtual SLP to coordinate schedules and student care
  • Assist in the preparation of therapy materials, sessions, and progress reports
  • Communicate with families and educational teams as needed
