Job Description
A school district in Sugar Land, Texas is seeking a qualified Bilingual Speech‑Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for a full‑time, school‑based contract. This position serves K–12 students and supports the delivery of speech and language services under the supervision of a licensed Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP). The ideal candidate is fluent in English and Spanish and is passionate about helping students develop communication skills and achieve academic success.
Responsibilities
- Provide speech and language therapy services to students under the supervision of a licensed SLP
- Implement treatment plans and therapy activities developed by the supervising SLP
- Assist students in improving articulation, language, fluency, and communication skills
- Provide bilingual support and communicate effectively with English‑ and Spanish‑speaking students and families
- Collect data and document student progress toward IEP goals
- Prepare therapy materials and support service delivery in individual and group settings
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary team members
- Participate in IEP meetings as appropriate
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with district, state, and federal guidelines
Qualifications
- Active Texas Speech‑Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license required
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required
- Ability to work under the supervision of a licensed Speech‑Language Pathologist
- Ability to pass background checks, fingerprinting, and district clearances
- Licensing and credentialing support may be available for eligible candidates
Education
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology Assistant studies, Communication Disorders, or a related field
Experience
- Previous school‑based, pediatric, or clinical experience preferred
- Experience supporting bilingual or multilingual student populations preferred
- Experience supporting students with speech and language disorders preferred
- New graduates with appropriate licensure are encouraged to apply

- Strong understanding of speech and language intervention strategies
- Fluency in English and Spanish
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and documentation abilities
- Ability to follow treatment plans and implement therapy activities effectively

Work Hours
- Monday–Friday
- 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Approximately 37–40 hours per week
