Exciting opportunities are available for licensed Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) to provide vital support during staff maternity leaves across several Houston-area campuses. Assignments begin in early 2027 and extend through the year, with locations in south, west, southwest, and east/southeast Houston. This contract-based role requires a strong commitment to school-based service and a clear understanding of Houston’s commute landscape.
Ideal Qualifications:
- Active Texas SLPA license in hand (licensure screenshot required).
- Demonstrated school-based experience as an SLPA.
- Ability and willingness to work onsite; remote options are not available.
- Reliable transportation and confirmed ability to commute to assigned campuses (30-mile max commute recommended).
- Comfort and experience handling varied school environments and student caseloads.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality speech and language intervention services to K-12 students under licensed SLP supervision.
- Collaborate with educational staff to support students’ communication and academic goals.
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of therapy sessions, progress notes, and required reports.
- Adapt therapy techniques to meet individual student needs and integrate into the classroom setting.
- Communicate professionally with teachers, parents, and administrators.
