Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) in South Paris, ME
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting preschool students as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for the school year. Work closely with a diverse caseload of 25 young learners, helping to foster communication skills that make a lasting difference. This position starts as soon as possible and runs through the end of the school year, with a consistent 32-hour-per-week schedule.
In this role, you'll travel between preschools within the district, providing vital services and collaborating with educators and licensed Speech-Language Pathologists. You'll be instrumental in carrying out therapy plans, supporting students’ individual communication needs, and updating progress notes to ensure tailored interventions.
Qualifications:
- Active SLPA certification in the state of Maine
- Understanding of preschool child development and early intervention best practices
- Prior experience in a school or pediatric setting is highly desirable
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage travel between district sites as needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language therapy sessions to preschool students under the supervision of an SLP
- Support implementation of individualized education program (IEP) goals
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation of student progress
- Communicate regularly with supervising SLPs, educators, and families
- Adapt to the needs of diverse learners across multiple preschool sites within the district
