Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) in Oxford, ME
Make a meaningful impact supporting preschool students as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant on a contract basis. Qualifications:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) credential for Maine (ME)
- Previous experience in a school setting or with preschool-aged children is highly desirable
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
- Adaptable and flexible approach to working across different classroom environments
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with supervising SLPs and educational teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language therapy services to preschool students under the guidance of a supervising SLP
- Travel between preschools within the district to deliver services as assigned
- Support students’ language, articulation, and communication goals in individual or small group settings
- Conduct screenings and assist with progress monitoring of students’ communication skills
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, session notes, and reports
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support students’ academic and communication success
Details:
- Contract position, beginning ASAP through the end of the school year (EOSY)
- 32 hours per week
- Manage a caseload of approximately 25 preschool students
