Pediatric School Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) | San Mateo, California
A bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is needed to provide specialized speech and language services to a high school caseload in San Mateo, CA. This contract position runs for the current school year and offers a .6 FTE schedule, providing support primarily to students who require bilingual service delivery in both English and Spanish.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive speech-language pathology services to high school students with diverse communication needs.
- Conduct assessments and provide therapy in both English and Spanish to meet the unique needs of a bilingual caseload.
- Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes in compliance with professional and district standards.
- Adapt therapeutic approaches and materials suitable for adolescent students.
Qualifications:
- Bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist certification with proficiency in English and Spanish language assessment and therapy.
- Experience working with high school-aged students and managing a caseload of 20+ students.
- Ability to deliver services across multiple settings, including school and teletherapy environments.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with students and staff.
- Flexibility to work a part-time schedule on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays as outlined.
Schedule and Location:
- Location: San Mateo, CA
- Hours: Approximately 24 hours/week (.6 FTE)
- Days: Wednesday (9:00 AM - 2:00 PM), Thursday (9:00 AM - 2:00 PM), Friday (9:00 AM - 1:00 PM)
