This contract-based role supports students in transitional kindergarten through 5th grade, serving a diverse caseload of approximately 60 children within a TK-12 district with a student population of 3,650. The position is focused entirely on elementary-aged students and is embedded within an enthusiastic and collaborative educational community.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active California SLPA credential is required; CTC credential is preferred but not mandatory
- Previous experience in school-based speech-language services is highly valued
- Prepared to address a broad spectrum of student abilities, from general education to moderate/severe needs
- Skilled with direct intervention, comprehensive evaluations, and IEP documentation
- Strong organizational skills to manage caseload and maintain accurate, timely records
- Excellent communication skills with both children and professional teams
- Commitment to fostering inclusive and supportive learning environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech-language services to students across elementary grade levels
- Conduct thorough speech-language assessments and contribute to multidisciplinary evaluations
- Write and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborating closely with educators and families
- Track progress, adjust interventions as needed, and maintain diligent caseload documentation
- Advocate for student needs and foster engagement in the educational process
This contract provides a set weekly schedule of 37.5 hours within a single elementary site, allowing for consistency and relationship-building with students and staff throughout the academic year. The assignment runs from August 10, 2026, through June 4, 2027.
