Qualifications and Skills:
- Active SLPA license or certification as required for school settings
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an SLPA, preferably working with school-age children or adolescents
- Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL); sign language skills are an essential requirement
- Understanding of IEPs, therapy documentation, and collaboration in multidisciplinary teams
- Strong interpersonal communication and organizational abilities
- Ability to adapt to the needs of a diverse student population in middle and high school environments
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and indirect speech-language therapy services under the supervision of a licensed SLP
- Support students in both individual and group sessions—many utilizing sign language to foster communication
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and family members to ensure consistency of care and facilitate progress
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation and progress reports as required
- Assist in developing materials and resources to enhance student engagement
