Speech Therapist Assistant in Baltimore, MD
A Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) is needed to support students in PreK through 5th grade across two elementary schools in the Baltimore, MD area. This is an on-site, contract position beginning February 16, 2026, through May 29, 2026, with the possibility of extension into the Extended School Year program in July.
The role involves working 37.5 hours per week split between two schools: Magnolia Elementary (3 days per week: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and Prospect Mill Elementary (2 days per week: Monday, Wednesday). The SLPA will assist licensed speech-language pathologists in delivering speech and language therapy services to young learners, helping to improve communication skills and support academic success.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Maryland Professional Licensure as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
- Experience working with children in PreK-5th grade settings preferred
- Successful completion of district background checks, fingerprinting, and employment history review in compliance with House Bill 486
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with students, families, and educational staff
Responsibilities:
- Assist in providing speech-language therapy under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist
- Implement therapy plans designed to improve speech and language skills
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of student progress
- Collaborate with educators and families to support individualized education goals
