Speech Language Pathologist Assistant - Irvine, CA
Step into an onsite contract opportunity supporting elementary students as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) near Irvine, CA! Collaborate with a team of professionals as you provide essential speech and language services to young learners and help them achieve their communication goals.
In this role, you’ll work Monday through Friday, covering 40 hours per week within an elementary, school-based setting. As an SLPA, you’ll partner closely with licensed Speech-Language Pathologists to assist with comprehensive student assessments, contribute to developing individualized goals, participate in IEP meetings, and deliver direct therapy services. The caseload has an itinerant setup, so some travel between school sites in the area may be part of your weekly routine.
Qualifications:
- Active California SLPA License or Authorization required
- School-based experience is preferred, but not mandatory
- Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage a flexible assignment
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with students, educators, and parents
- Ability to adapt to various school environments and handle itinerant assignments
Key Responsibilities:
- Support SLPs with student assessments and observation
- Assist in the creation and implementation of goals for students requiring speech-language services
- Provide direct intervention and therapy to elementary-aged children
- Participate in annual IEP meetings and ongoing team collaboration
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes per district guidelines
