Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) – School-Based Position
Location: Fort Myers
Position Type: Part-Time (Potential for Full-Time)
Contract Dates: August 11, 2026 – May 27, 2027
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support speech-language services for students in a school-based setting. The SLPA will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to help students develop communication skills and achieve their educational goals.
Assignment Details
Schedule: 7.5–22.5 hours per week
Potential Hours: Up to 37.5 hours per week if additional supervision becomes available
School Assignments: Multiple locations available; assignments may be combined to increase hours
Caseload: Approximately 50–55 students
Hours: May fluctuate based on supervision availability
Essential Responsibilities
Provide speech-language therapy services under the direction of a supervising SLP.
Implement treatment plans and therapy activities developed by the supervising SLP.
Assist with documenting student progress and maintaining service records.
Support students in individual and small-group therapy sessions.
Prepare therapy materials and instructional resources.
Collaborate with teachers, families, and school staff to support student communication goals.
Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal regulations.
Qualifications
Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an approved Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program.
Active Florida Department of Health (DOH) Speech-Language Pathology Assistant license.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
School-based experience preferred but not required.
License Requirement
Active Florida DOH SLPA License required.
