School-Based Speech-Language Pathology Assistant
A supportive school district in the Corpus Christi, TX area is seeking multiple Speech-Language Pathology Assistants for short-term school-based positions at the beginning of the 2026–2027 school year. This opportunity is with Corpus Christi CISD and is intended to provide additional SLPA coverage while the district’s direct hires complete the observation hours required for licensure.
The district is seeking up to four qualified SLPAs who are comfortable working onsite and can begin quickly. This is currently expected to be a six-week assignment, although there is a possibility the need could extend beyond the initial end date.
Responsibilities:
· Provide speech and language therapy support under the supervision of a licensed SLP
· Assist with implementing student treatment plans and IEP-related services
· Support students with communication, articulation, language, fluency, and social communication needs
· Collaborate with supervising SLPs, teachers, administrators, and other school staff
· Maintain required documentation and track student progress as directed
· Help provide temporary caseload coverage while district employees complete licensure requirements
· Work across assigned school campuses based on district needs
Experience:
· Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred
· Experience working with a variety of student age groups is a plus
· Must be comfortable entering a short-term assignment and adapting to district needs
· Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills required
Education & Licensure:
· Active Texas SLPA license required
· Must meet all state and district requirements for school-based SLPA practice
· Texas fingerprinting is required and must be completed quickly if the candidate is not already in the state system
