Key Qualifications:
- Valid licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in California
- Recent experience working with children or students, preferably in an educational or pediatric setting
- Proficiency in implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Professionalism, reliability, and adaptability in a school environment
- Ability to collaborate effectively with supervisors, educators, and families
Sample Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language therapy services to students as directed by the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist
- Assist in conducting screenings and assessments to determine students’ communication needs
- Document student progress and maintain accurate therapy records
- Support the creation of materials and activities to enhance language and articulation skills
- Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to facilitate generalization of communication skills in academic settings
- Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities as needed
