Step into a dynamic educational environment supporting high school students as a contract Speech-Language Pathology Assistant. This in-person opportunity, located near Burlington and based in Shelburne, VT, runs from August 21, 2026, to June 14, 2027. You’ll work directly with students presenting a wide range of needs—from mild to more complex—delivering tailored services such as small group, one-on-one, classroom push-in, and pull-out support.

Working alongside a collaborative team at CVU, you'll play a crucial role in helping students achieve their communication goals, utilizing your specialized knowledge and genuine commitment to student growth. This full-time position is structured for 7.5 hours a day, five days a week, ensuring you have ample opportunity to make a significant impact.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid SLP-A certification or a strong background in communication sciences
  • Experience in both educational and healthcare settings serving youth populations
  • Ability to adapt interventions and communication strategies for a diverse caseload
  • Skill in delivering small group, individualized, and integrated classroom support
  • Enthusiasm for in-person instruction with no telehealth responsibilities
  • Excellent organizational abilities and clear, compassionate communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Implement speech and language goals under the supervision of a licensed SLP
  • Support students in various settings—small group, 1:1, push-in, and pull-out—to maximize engagement and progress
  • Monitor and document student progress, communicating insights to the supervising SLP and educational team
  • Foster a positive, encouraging atmosphere for students with communication needs
  • Participate actively in team meetings to collaborate on best practices and student success
