School-Based Speech Therapist Assistant - Essex, Maryland
Step into a rewarding role supporting students’ communication needs as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant for the 2026–2027 school year in the Baltimore area. The assignment begins September 2, 2026, and concludes June 17, 2027, with a consistent schedule of 37.5 hours per week. You’ll be part of a multi-disciplinary team, helping children reach their communication goals while supporting licensed speech-language pathologists.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Maryland Professional Licensure required for practicing SLPAs
- Previous experience within school-based environments, especially those involving children and adolescents, is preferred
- Ability to present images of licensure as part of the onboarding process
- Commitment to completing all credentialing and compliance, including House Bill 486 background check, fingerprinting, and employment history review
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Positive attitude and dedication to fostering student success and inclusion
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support a caseload of students with diverse speech and language challenges under supervision of an SLP
- Implement therapy activities based on individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Track student progress and prepare detailed reports
- Collaborate with educators, related service providers, and families
- Adapt activities to accommodate differing needs across assigned schools
- Maintain accurate records and uphold confidentiality
