Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active Illinois SLPA license required
- Experience or enthusiasm for working in schools, particularly with high school-aged students
- Familiarity with both school-based and healthcare SLPA practices is preferred
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with supervising SLPs, educators, and students
- Previous SLPA experience in educational settings is a plus but not mandatory
Responsibilities Include:
- Assist the SLP in delivering speech therapy services to high school students, following treatment plans and individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Support students across various speech and language goals, adapting activities to meet diverse needs
- Track and document student progress, maintaining accurate and timely records as required by school guidelines
- Participate in team meetings and student reviews as needed
- Maintain professional and positive relationships with students, families, and faculty
- Ensure therapy sessions are engaging, inclusive, and student-focused
