Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid SLPA license or certification recognized by the state of California
- Previous experience working in school or pediatric healthcare settings preferred
- Strong understanding of speech and language development for school-aged children
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to implement treatment plans developed by a supervising Speech-Language Pathologist
- Adaptability in supporting large and diverse caseloads
- Commitment to confidentiality and ethical practice
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide direct therapy to students under the supervision of a Speech-Language Pathologist, both one-on-one and in small groups
- Assist in developing and implementing speech and language exercises and activities tailored to each student’s IEP
- Collect and document data on student progress and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to integrate communication strategies in the classroom
- Participate in IEP meetings as requested and contribute to discussions regarding student progress
- Support family communication and provide resources on speech and language development as needed
