Bilingual fluency in Spanish is essential, as you'll be serving both English and Spanish-speaking students and families.
Qualifications:
- Hold current state licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
- Experience or preparedness to work in a school-based environment
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (speaking and writing)
- Comfortable working independently across multiple sites
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to build relationships with students, staff, and families from diverse backgrounds
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services as designed in students' IEPs under the supervision of a licensed SLP
- Support a K-12 caseload with a variety of communication needs
- Maintain accurate and timely student records and session notes
- Communicate therapy progress to supervising SLP and school teams
- Adapt interventions to support students in both English and Spanish
- Travel between assigned schools in accordance with the itinerant role
- Participate fully in school and district special education activities as requested
This position offers up to 30 hours per week, providing stability and the chance to develop strong professional relationships throughout the school year.
