Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - Westport, CT
Step into a rewarding opportunity serving students in a unique classroom-based setting as a Speech-Language Pathologist. This contract position begins as soon as possible and extends through June 11, 2027. You'll play a pivotal role in the daily lives of learners, fostering language and communication skills directly within the classroom—a collaborative, integrative approach rather than traditional pull-out therapy.
Bring your expertise as either a Certified Clinical Competence (CCC) SLP or a Clinical Fellow (CF)—the district offers dedicated CF supervision to help you thrive and progress. You’ll be joining a focused team, working alongside educators and other specialists to create meaningful, inclusive experiences for students.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Valid or eligible SLP licensure
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or Clinical Fellow (CF) status
- Pediatric experience preferred; school-based or classroom SLP experience highly valued
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Enthusiastic about working within the classroom environment
- SLPA supervision is not included in this assignment
Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language therapy directly in classroom settings
- Collaborate closely with teachers and interdisciplinary teams to support student success
- Develop, implement, and review individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and staff development opportunities
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed to maximize outcomes for each learner
