School Speech Language Pathologist - Waukegan, Illinois
Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students as a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist in a vibrant educational setting near the Waukegan, IL area. This full-time contract position spans the academic year from August 17, 2026, to May 27, 2027, offering approximately 33.25 hours per week of meaningful, face-to-face engagement. Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC)
- Valid licensure for practice in Illinois
- Previous experience in a school-based or similar pediatric setting highly preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Commitment to inclusive, student-centered therapeutic practices
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and provide evidence-based therapy for speech, language, and communication disorders
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed
- Participate in IEP meetings, staff development, and parent conferences
- Maintain detailed documentation in compliance with school and state guidelines
