Desired Skills and Experience:
- Valid Professional Educator Certification required.
- Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communicative Disorders from a regionally accredited institution.
- Strong foundation in pediatric and adolescent development – both cognitive and physical.
- In-depth knowledge of laws and regulations related to services for children with disabilities.
- Experience with medical and psychological diagnostic tools for student assessment.
- Advanced understanding of terminology used to describe physical and learning disabilities.
- Proven ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data as well as relevant policies and regulations.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- ASHA Certification and ABSESPA Licensure are preferred.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide direct speech-language services to students on an assigned caseload.
- Assess, diagnose, and write reports tailored to individual student needs.
- Collaborate with educational, medical, and family teams to develop and implement IEPs.
- Maintain meticulous documentation in accordance with regulations and school guidelines.
- Educate staff and families on communication disorders and support strategies.
