Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Current, valid Virginia SLP license (or eligibility)
- Strong background in school-based speech-language services
- Familiarity with conducting student assessments and evaluations
- Experience with developing, updating, and implementing IEPs
- Comfort serving both as a direct therapist and participating in team meetings
- Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills
- Ability to engage and connect with high school-aged students
Role Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive student evaluations and assessments within a high school setting
- Oversee and facilitate the development, writing, and revision of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide effective, evidence-based direct therapy to students
- Attend and participate in IEP, team, and parent meetings, providing professional expertise and recommendations
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation for all sessions, assessments, and progress reports
- Collaborate with educational staff, families, and support personnel for holistic student care
- All work, including indirect/admin hours and meeting participation, is compensated within the contracted schedule
- Paid travel time (no mileage reimbursement required) between any assignments
