School-Based Speech Language Pathologist - Thornton, Colorado
A rewarding contract opportunity is available for Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs), with openings for both SLP-CCC and SLP-CF professionals. This assignment takes place near Thornton, CO, supporting school-aged students in a collaborative environment. The role includes a full-year placement as well as Leave of Absence (LOA) coverage, each situated within dynamic elementary and K-8 settings.
The full-year assignment involves working in an intensive pre-school classroom, focusing on early intervention and collaboration with other professionals. The LOA coverage entails engaging with K-8 students, with the potential to supervise SLPAs in both settings. Familiarity with IEP development, carrying out assessments, implementing interventions, and tracking progress toward IEP goals is essential. Experience supporting linguistically diverse students or holding an ESL/LDE endorsement is highly valued.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Speech-Language Pathologist Licensure
- Valid Colorado Department of Education Certification
- Eligibility as SLP-CCC or SLP-CF
- Experience working in early childhood (pre-K) and/or K-8 environments strongly preferred
- Comfortable assisting with SLPAs supervision
- Proficient with IEPs, goal setting, and progress monitoring
- Background in assessment and delivering speech services
- ELL training or ESL/LDE Endorsement is a plus
Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language services to pre-school and K-8 students
- Develop, implement, and track IEPs to support student progress
- Conduct evaluations and provide ongoing assessments
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Supervise SLPAs as needed
