School-Based Speech Language Pathologist - Thermal, California
Embark on a fulfilling school-based contract supporting students as a speech-language pathologist in the heart of the Coachella Valley. This onsite opportunity is available for the 2026-2027 full school year, with a preference for candidates interested in an assignment lasting longer than a single year. The focus is primarily on PreK, though there’s a strong possibility of itinerant responsibilities. Bilingual (Spanish/English) applicants are highly encouraged, yet monolingual candidates are welcomed.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC) or Clinical Fellowship (CF) status
- Experience in schools and familiarity with SEIS systems
- Previous involvement with California Medicaid (Paradigm) programs is advantageous
- Bilingual Spanish preferred; open to candidates fluent in English only
- COC (Certificate of Clearance) required before starting
- Comfortable working with a caseload spanning mild-to-moderate and some severe student needs, including those using AAC devices
- Flexible to itinerant travel within a district setting
- Willingness to engage in an onsite-only role
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language services to PreK and school-aged students
- Complete assessments, develop treatment plans, and implement IEP goals
- Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to best serve diverse student populations
- Document services in accordance with federal, state, and district guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
