Speech-Language Pathologist in Thermal, CA
An exciting opportunity awaits Speech-Language Pathologists seeking a rewarding contract role in the vibrant Coachella Valley area. This position focuses primarily on PreK students and involves collaboration with a dedicated educational team. Ideal applicants bring experience in school-based therapy, with particular value placed on knowledge of SEIS and California Medicaid (Paradigm). The caseload is largely mild to moderate, with some students requiring more intensive support and access to AAC devices, making adaptability and a comprehensive approach essential.
Skills, Experience, and Qualities We Value:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- California SLP licensure and current Certificate of Clearance (COC)
- Clinical fellowships (CFs) are welcome
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred but not required
- Previous experience in school settings and with SEIS documentation is a plus
- Experience or willingness to work with AAC devices
- Strong preference for bilingual (Spanish-English) candidates; monolingual applicants considered
- Commitment to a full academic year or longer assignment
- Flexibility to work in an itinerant capacity, supporting students across multiple sites
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language therapy services to PreK students, with some work supporting students with greater needs
- Conduct evaluations, develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), document progress, and participate actively in multidisciplinary meetings
- Collaborate closely with educators, families, and support staff
- Maintain timely, accurate documentation and compliance with all state and district requirements
