You’ll focus primarily on students with speech and language impairments, although the caseload includes a variety of disabilities.
You’ll collaborate with a full-time SLP on campus, ensuring you have professional support and guidance as needed. Your expertise will help students develop the communication skills essential for academic and social success.
Qualifications:
- Current active provisional, SLP DOH license, or certification through FLDOE
- Experience working with children in elementary school settings strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of speech and language disorders and evidence-based intervention strategies
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with other professionals and contribute to a positive school team environment
Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders among assigned students
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with educational teams
- Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and provide regular updates to parents and staff
- Provide direct therapy and consultative support as needed
- Participate in staff meetings, IEP conferences, and professional development as required
