Job Description
A school district in Tempe, Arizona is seeking a qualified Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP – CCC) for a full‑time, school‑based contract. This position serves K–12 students and focuses on providing speech and language services to support communication, academic success, and social development. Candidates must hold their Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) and demonstrate strong clinical and collaborative skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide speech‑language therapy services to students in individual and group settings
- Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders
- Develop, implement, and manage IEP goals and services
- Conduct evaluations and re‑evaluations in compliance with district and federal guidelines
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers
- Provide consultation and training to staff regarding communication strategies
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and service logs
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
- Support student access to curriculum and communication development
Qualifications
- Active Arizona Speech‑Language Pathologist license
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP) – required
- Ability to pass background checks, fingerprinting, and district clearances
- Credentialing support may be available for eligible candidates
Education
- Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology or a related field
Experience
- Previous school‑based or pediatric experience preferred
- Experience managing a caseload and IEP compliance strongly preferred
Skills
- Strong knowledge of speech‑language therapy practices in educational settings
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strong organizational and documentation abilities
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to supporting diverse student populations
Work Hours
- Monday–Friday
- 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Approximately 37–40 hours per week
