Step into an engaging contract opportunity serving students in North Virginia, just a short drive south of Washington, D.C. This position focuses on making a real difference for young learners by providing expert speech-language pathology support across various settings. You’ll work directly with a 4th grader in-home, a 2nd grader within a school, and may assist two additional students at a private day school as the district transitions to a new therapist.
This part-time assignment (10-15 hours per week) includes onsite responsibilities at three locations. The contract runs from ASAP through late May 2026, allowing you to bring your passion and expertise to multiple students across the region.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Active Virginia SLP license in good standing
- Recent TB test (as mandated by the state)
- Immediate initiation of the VA Department of Social Services check
- Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting strongly preferred
- Flexibility and reliability to travel between locations within the district
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Primary responsibilities include:
- Conducting speech and language therapy for elementary-age students in diverse environments
- Developing and implementing IEP goals tailored to each child’s needs
- Maintaining up-to-date records and progress notes in compliance with district and state standards
- Cooperating with classroom teachers, school staff, and families to maximize student outcomes
- Adapting intervention strategies to address individual learning styles and backgrounds
Compensation is based on years of school-based experience, ranging from $46 to $58 per hour.
