Make a meaningful impact supporting students’ communication skills by providing speech-language therapy services in a school-based setting for the 2026-2027 academic year. This contract position offers a dynamic schedule working across three school sites, with a primary focus on K-5 students but also involving pre-K through 12th grade. The assignment begins August 6, 2026, and wraps up on June 2, 2027, with a 37.5-hour workweek spread over five days.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid North Carolina Speech-Language Pathologist license (SLP-CCC required)
- Experience with school-aged caseloads (pre-K through 12th grade preferred)
- Familiarity with DHHS Pre-K background check requirements
- Competency in ECATS documentation
- Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 40-50 students across multiple settings, including Headstart and a private school
- Skilled in all aspects of IEP documentation, including present levels, developing goals, specifying service times, and acting as case manager when necessary
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech therapy interventions for students with a range of needs
- Accurately record session notes and progress data in ECATS
- Complete IEP paperwork; act as case manager for students with Speech Impaired as their sole eligibility category, including scheduling and facilitating IEP meetings
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student success
