You’ll split your week between two sites—one focused on special education, the other on building socialization skills. Expect to join a district with a supportive team of 12 Speech-Language Pathologists; while this role works independently on site, you’ll have virtual and monthly team connections, plus strong daily collaboration with special educators, paraprofessionals, and support staff.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active SLP licensure and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
- Recent experience or passion for working in school settings, especially with life skills programming
- Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) and feeding/swallowing (safe eating) best practices strongly preferred, but not required—training is available
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
- Willingness to work fully in-person, with no telepractice or hybrid options
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech-language therapy services to a caseload of approximately 33 students, focusing on language, social communication, feeding/swallowing safety, and AAC implementation
- Collaborate with teachers, aides, and families to design and implement individualized treatment plans
- Attend IEP meetings, monitor progress, and maintain timely, clear documentation
- Participate in monthly SLP team meetings and ongoing professional development
