School Speech Language Pathologist - Springfield, MA
Make a difference this summer by supporting high school students with Autism Spectrum Disorders or other learning differences in an innovative program dedicated to fostering independence. This contract Speech-Language Pathologist position is set within a specialized lower Pioneer Valley educational collaboration, offering the opportunity to work in a close-knit, personalized setting in Ludlow, MA. The Compass High Program at Ludlow High School emphasizes tailored learning outside the traditional classroom, helping teens build vital skills for life beyond graduation.
Your commitment will run from July 6, 2026, through August 7, 2026, with a schedule of 15–20 hours per week across 2–3 days. Demonstrate your expertise with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) services (AAC evaluation experience not required), delivering compassionate and creative support for a unique caseload. Candidates who shine during this summer assignment may be invited to return for the 2026–2027 school year.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current SLP-CCC certification and full compliance with all state licensure requirements
- Proven experience in a school setting, particularly with high-school-aged students
- Familiarity with Autism Spectrum Disorders and/or other developmental learning differences
- Proficient in AAC services, supporting high school learners’ communication needs
- Commitment to a collaborative, student-centered approach in a specialized educational environment
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide direct SLP services for high school students within the Compass High Program
- Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support individualized student goals
- Document progress and adjust interventions as needed
- Serve as a resource for AAC integration in the classroom
