Your schedule will run from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, Tuesday through Friday, and Monday hours begin at 8:30 am. Spend four days each week at a middle school, and dedicate Mondays to engaging with four homebound students—two elementary and two secondary—focusing on advanced communication technologies like AAC devices and eye gaze systems. You’ll have a transition period with the current SLP starting in February to ensure you settle in smoothly.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field
- Active SLP licensure in Washington State (or eligibility)
- Experience with AAC devices and assistive communication technology strongly preferred
- Background working in middle school and with diverse learner populations
- Ability to adapt approaches for homebound and varying grade levels
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy to middle school students, approximately 725 minutes monthly
- Deliver individualized support to four homebound students, utilizing AAC and other assistive tools as needed
- Develop and implement IEPs and maintain progress documentation
- Collaborate with families, staff, and external specialists to ensure comprehensive care
- Participate in professional development and school meetings
