School Speech Language Pathologist - Scottsdale, Arizona
Step into an exciting contract opportunity supporting students in the PK-6th grade range! This dynamic role centers on working in four self-contained classrooms and playing a key part in delivering high-quality speech and language services within the school setting. You’ll collaborate closely with another SLP as you split the caseload and supervise two dedicated SLPAs, contributing to a nurturing environment where each child can thrive.
Applicants with experience supervising SLPAs will be especially valued, but those eager to build leadership skills are certainly encouraged to apply. Your knowledge will help shape a supportive atmosphere while working alongside passionate professionals.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) required
- Supervisory experience preferred, but not required; willingness to mentor SLPA staff essential
- Valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card required
- Experience with preschool-6th grade students, especially in self-contained settings, is a strong asset
- Current knowledge of best practices in school-based speech therapy
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide evaluations and therapy for students in grades PK-6, focusing on self-contained classrooms
- Collaborate with a fellow SLP to split and manage the assigned caseload efficiently
- Supervise and mentor two SLPAs, providing guidance, oversight, and feedback
- Participate in IEP meetings and maintain accurate documentation
- Foster strong relationships with students, families, and multidisciplinary team members to support student success
