School Speech Therapist | Sanford, Florida
Step into a rewarding role supporting student communication growth across elementary and middle school settings in the vibrant communities of Ormond Beach and Port Orange, Florida. This contract opportunity offers a dynamic schedule split between Ormond Beach Elementary, Pine Trail Elementary, and Silver Sands Middle School, totaling 37.5 hours per week through June 2026—with potential for a full five-day assignment at the elementary locations next year.
Candidates with a Master’s degree and a valid Florida SLP license are encouraged to apply. Clinicians with their Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) are preferred, though Clinical Fellows (CFs) are also welcome and will receive direct supervision. For the current year, exceptional Bachelor-level candidates ready to work using a temporary teaching certificate may be considered; however, an SLPA license will not meet requirements.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology preferred; Bachelor’s degree considered under specific conditions
- Florida SLP license required
- ASHA CCCs a plus; strong mentorship available for CFs
- Prior experience or strong interest working within a school setting
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload across elementary and middle school populations
- Effective communicator and team collaborator
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech/language assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Deliver direct therapy and consultative services based on IEP goals
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary staff to support student outcomes
- Monitor progress and maintain compliance with documentation requirements
- Participate in IEP meetings and professional development activities
