School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Saint Charles, Illinois
Step into a fulfilling contract opportunity supporting early childhood and kindergarten students in a dynamic school setting near Saint Charles, IL. This assignment, running from August 10th through November 3rd, focuses on providing crucial Speech-Language Pathology services during a maternity leave. You'll have the chance to work approximately 32.5 hours per week (Monday–Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm) with a manageable caseload of around 35 students.
Your expertise will be valued as you engage with children diagnosed with developmental delays (DD), specific learning disabilities (SLD), other health impairments (OHI), and speech or language impairments (SLI). Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Speech-Language Pathology endorsement (SLP required)
- Previous experience working with early childhood and/or kindergarten populations
- Familiarity with students who have DD, SLD, OHI, and SLI
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to create engaging and developmentally appropriate therapy sessions
- Willingness to collaborate with educational teams and families
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy to assigned students
- Assess and document student progress; contribute to IEP meetings as necessary
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and intervention strategies
- Consult with educators and parents regarding student needs and progress
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with school and district policies
