Speech Language Pathologist in Elgin, IL
Embark on a fulfilling contract opportunity, supporting early childhood and kindergarten students through essential speech-language services. Step into a vital maternity leave coverage role from August 10 to November 3, working near Elgin, Illinois. Hours align with a family-friendly schedule—approximately 32.5 hours weekly, from 8:30am to 3:30pm.
You’ll be welcomed into a nurturing school environment, focusing your expertise on a manageable caseload of around 35 students. The classroom features a diverse range of needs, including developmental delays (DD), specific learning disabilities (SLD), other health impairments (OHI), and speech or language impairments (SLI). Your skills will enable children to communicate more effectively and make meaningful progress during this formative period.
What You'll Need:
- Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) with Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) endorsement for Illinois
- Experience in school-based or pediatric speech-language pathology preferred
- Familiarity with early childhood and kindergarten populations
- Strong collaborative abilities, ready to partner with teachers, staff, and families
- Organizational skills to manage assessments, IEPs, and student progress
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language therapy for children ages three to six
- Administer and interpret assessments to inform and update IEP goals
- Consult with special education teams and families to ensure consistent support
- Maintain thorough documentation on student progress and required compliance
- Adapt intervention strategies to meet individual student needs
