Pre K Elementary School Speech Language Pathologist - Richlands, NC
Step into an impactful role supporting elementary and pre-K students as a contracted Speech-Language Pathologist for the 26/27 school year. As an integral member of a dedicated educational team, you'll be responsible for fostering speech, language, and communication development, working in collaboration with local schools and the surrounding community to ensure student success.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Hold or eligibility for licensure from the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists (NCBOESLPA)
- Knowledge of childhood speech and hearing development, and of communication disorders and treatments
- Familiarity with Federal, State, and Local regulations affecting school SLP services
- Skill in coordinating and facilitating services and building positive professional relationships
- Proficient in maintaining student records and preparing detailed reports
Primary Responsibilities:
- Screen, assess, and diagnose speech and language challenges for elementary and pre-school populations
- Provide formal and informal program information to staff, families, and the broader school community
- Consult with teachers, parents, and school personnel; adjust intervention strategies based on student progress
- Develop individualized plans rooted in evidence-based practices, delivering group and one-on-one services
- Support teachers with classroom management as it pertains to speech-language disorders
- Monitor, record, and communicate student progress; make recommendations for continued services as needed
- Maintain all necessary documentation and records in compliance with relevant guidelines
- Travel between school sites as needed to provide comprehensive support
