This contracted Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position for the 2026-2027 school year offers an opportunity to support communication development in elementary and pre-school students within a school setting in Swansboro, NC. As a contracted employee assigned through a respected therapy provider to a local school district, you will play a vital role in delivering speech-language services that enhance student learning and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech, language, and hearing screenings and assessments for pediatric students.
- Develop and implement evidence-based intervention plans tailored to individual and group needs.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and community resources to coordinate and facilitate services.
- Maintain accurate student records and prepare necessary reports.
- Provide consultation on speech, language, and hearing programs to school personnel and families.
- Monitor and adjust intervention strategies based on student progress.
- Analyze the impact of speech-language services on student outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws governing school speech-language programs.
- Drive to various school sites as needed and participate in emergency drills as required.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field.
- Current or eligible for licensure by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists (NCBOESLPA).
- Considerable knowledge of childhood speech and hearing development alongside communication disorder treatments.
- Strong understanding of laws and regulations affecting school speech-language services.
- Ability to establish positive professional relationships and coordinate with diverse stakeholders.
- Physical ability to perform duties including standing, walking, lifting up to 15 pounds regularly, and facilitating student safety.
