Make a difference in the lives of students by supporting communication and language development across both elementary and early childhood settings. A contract-based opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) near Queen Creek, AZ, working 40 hours per week between a K-8 campus and an Early Childhood Learning Center.
Your time will be divided, with approximately four-tenths allocated to the K-8 school, serving a caseload of about 68 students, including 15 identified as medically fragile or with moderate to profound intellectual disabilities (MOID). The remaining six-tenths of the week will focus on the preschool program, where your caseload will be balanced to approximately 65 students in collaboration with another SLP, ensuring manageable group sizes and comprehensive, child-centered support.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or equivalent
- Current state licensure or eligibility as an SLP in Arizona
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
- Experience working with K-8 and early childhood populations highly desirable
- Aptitude for individualized and group therapy models
- Familiarity working with medically fragile students and diverse needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language services across a dynamic caseload, adjusting interventions for both elementary and preschool-age students
- Develop, implement, and update individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and families to maximize student outcomes
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, offering professional insights for student support
- Maintain accurate records while adhering to compliance and best practice standards
