Speech Language Pathologist 26-27 School Year
Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide in-person services within a school-based setting in Providence, RI for the 2026–2027 academic year. This role offers flexibility in scheduling (part-time or full-time) and the opportunity to support a diverse student population with varying communication needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations and assessments to identify speech, language, and communication disorders
- Develop and implement individualized education plan (IEP) goals and therapy plans
- Provide direct and indirect speech-language services to students
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to support student progress
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with school and state guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
- Monitor and report on student progress toward established goals
Caseload
Caseload will be determined based on district needs. Multiple openings and program variations are available and will be discussed during the interview process to align with candidate experience and preferences.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active Rhode Island SLP license (or eligibility to obtain prior to start date)
- Compliance with all state and district credentialing requirements
- Ability to provide services in person (no remote/teletherapy options available)
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior school-based experience
- Familiarity with IEP processes and special education compliance
- Strong collaboration and communication skills

- Assignment follows the school calendar, including holidays and scheduled breaks
