School-Based Speech Language Pathologist - Port Saint Lucie, Florida
Step into a rewarding school-based contract role working directly with students in vibrant educational communities in the Port Saint Lucie and Fort Pierce areas. We're seeking dedicated Speech-Language Pathologists to support a varied student population across K-8 grades, with flexible options for both part-time (14-21 hours per week) and full-time (35 hours per week) schedules. Multiple openings can be combined for those interested in full-time hours. This is an in-person opportunity, allowing you to build strong relationships and deliver hands-on therapy.
What you bring:
- Current and active Florida SLP license required
- Previous school-based SLP experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaborative team environments and independent work
- Familiarity with a range of student ages, from pre-kindergarten through 8th grade
- Ability to manage caseloads effectively and compassionately
- Commitment to completing time-sensitive credentialing requirements, including district fingerprinting and on-site badge pickup
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing speech-language assessment, diagnosis, and therapy for assigned student caseload
- Collaborating with teachers, staff, and other SLPs (team environments and independent roles available)
- Maintaining clear and consistent documentation for IEPs and progress reports
- Working with a diverse population and adapting strategies to meet unique student needs
- Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings and contributing to student success plans
- Serving one to two schools, depending on assigned caseload and hours
