School-Based SLP | Smithville, Missouri
Make a meaningful impact in students’ lives while focusing on their communication development in a collaborative school environment. This contract role, beginning August 24, 2026 and extending through June 10, 2027 (including ESY dates), is an excellent opportunity for a Certified Speech Language Pathologist or Speech Language Pathologist Assistant, supporting young learners from ages 3 to 18 with a range of mild to moderate needs. Position is conveniently located near Smithville, MO, and includes work at three local sites. This is a part-time opening, structured for 2 days per week at 7.5 hours daily for SLPs, or 3 days per week for SLPAs (to ensure appropriate supervision).
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, evidence-based speech and language therapy to students with diverse needs
- Conduct screenings, assessments, and develop individualized treatment plans
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and support staff to maximize student success
- Complete required documentation and progress monitoring
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team planning
- Support inclusive practices across school settings
Qualifications:
- Current certification as Speech Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC, SLP-CFY) or eligibility as Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA)
- Experience in K-12 or pediatric healthcare environments
- Proficiency in teletherapy platforms is a plus
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- Compassion for children and a collaborative mindset
