Step into an in-person, contract opportunity supporting students across PreK-12th grade as a school-based SLP-CCC covering a medical leave. Starting October 1, 2026, and running through November 20, 2026—with the potential to extend through the semester—this position offers the chance to make an impact across a diverse caseload of approximately 40 students, including some who are nonverbal and utilize low-tech AAC devices. Candidates will have the unique benefit of shadowing the outgoing SLP prior to the leave, ensuring a seamless transition and robust support for the students served.
Required Qualifications:
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA
- Valid New Jersey Department of Education Speech-Language Specialist Certification
- Previous experience in school settings partnering with students from PreK through 12th grade
- Comfort providing therapy in-person (please note: teletherapy options are not available for this role)
Preferred Experience:
- Familiarity with low-tech augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices
- Experience working with nonverbal students
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language services to a caseload of approximately 40 students within the PreK-12 spectrum
- Assess, diagnose, and implement appropriate interventions for students with a range of communication needs
- Collaborate closely with general and special education staff, parents, and administration
- Document progress and develop individualized education plan (IEP) goals
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary teams
