Qualifications:
- Valid Professional Educator Certification required
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communicative Disorders from a regionally accredited institution
- Solid understanding of laws, rules, and regulations regarding services and education for children with disabilities, and other regulated programs
- Strong knowledge of pediatric/adolescent development, medical and psychological diagnostic tools, and terminology related to physical and learning disabilities
- Ability to collect, analyze, and synthesize data while interpreting relevant laws and guidelines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Preferred: ASHA Certification and ABSESPA Licensure
Duties:
- Assess and diagnose speech, language, and communication needs among students across diverse age groups
- Provide therapeutic intervention tailored to each student’s IEP and developmental profile
- Collaborate closely with teachers, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams to develop effective, student-focused strategies
- Document services provided and maintain accurate records in compliance with legal and professional standards
- Translate diagnostic findings and strategies clearly to families and staff to ensure ongoing support
