Pediatric School Speech and Language Pathologist | Paterson, New Jersey
Step into an engaging summer opportunity supporting students and teams in a school-based setting near Paterson, NJ! This contract position provides rewarding experiences in educational environments, perfect for Speech-Language Pathologists with a passion for pediatric care.
Two dynamic roles are available for the 2026 Extended School Year (ESY):
ESY Speech Teacher:
- Schedule: Monday through Thursday; no Fridays.
- Dates: June 29 – July 30.
- Typical hours are 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM, with flexibility—schedules can be shifted (e.g., starting at 9:30 AM), and daily attendance is not mandatory every single day.
- Focus on direct instruction within 1/2 day programs, impacting students’ summer learning.
ESY CST (Child Study Team) Staff for Evaluations & Meetings:
- Mainly scheduled for Fridays from July 1 – August 30, though not all Fridays will require attendance.
- Supporting CST needs through student evaluations and participation in meetings.
- Assignments are determined "as needed" based on summer demand.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
• New Jersey SLP licensure (or eligibility)
• CCC-SLP, CFY, or pediatric school SLP experience
• Knowledge of IEP processes and strong communication skills
• Ability to collaborate with teachers and multidisciplinary teams
• Creative, flexible, and committed to student growth
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver speech and language therapy in group and individual settings
• Complete evaluations, write reports, and attend CST meetings
• Provide consultative support to school staff and families
• Adapt sessions for unique summer programming needs
• Ensure compliance with state and district guidelines
