Take on a rewarding opportunity supporting preK students as a contract Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a specialized leave coverage near Paterson, NJ. Working with a manageable caseload of 13 students, you’ll provide high-quality speech therapy services and make a direct impact on early communication skills, especially for young learners with unique needs. This is a full-time position, with a consistent Monday through Friday schedule totaling 35 hours per week.
Key Qualifications:
- Active New Jersey SLP license
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA
- Experience in pediatric and school settings
- Previous work with children on the autism spectrum highly desirable
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to adapt therapy techniques for preK development levels
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and deliver therapy services to preK students
- Document progress and maintain accurate student records in compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Consult with teachers, support staff, and families to integrate therapy goals across school environments
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions
- Adapt materials and strategies for a variety of learning styles, with particular focus on students with autism
- Offer compassionate, positive support that fosters confidence and growth in young learners
